Pfeiffer Panel – Innovative Solutions in Vertical Grinding and Conveying for the Cement Industries in Southern and Eastern Africa
Gebr. Pfeiffer and co-sponsor Beumer invited their clients in the SADC countries as well as the EAC region. 70 delegates from six countries followed the call and joined for the two-day-event in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Both host companies were diligently supported by their agent, BME Group, Johannesburg.
The two-day-event took place in the comfort of the Radisson Blue Gautrain in Sandton. The Conference, two lunches, the gala dinner and the bar facilities allowed for ample networking. The atmosphere was described by all delegates and presenters as highly conductive and beneficial to the intricate appreciation of top modern process trends and technical insight.
After the opening remarks Pfeiffer Exec. Director Patrick Heyd took the audience through the characteristics and the world-record references of the most modern vertical grinding mill, the MVR mill by Gebr. Pfeiffer.
Dr. Caroline Woywadt, Pfeiffer Director of Process Technology, then presented on the process optimization features the superior MVR mill has been designed for. The ensuing question & answer session was lively and highly beneficial, equally to Pfeiffer as well as the audience.
Senior Sales Engineer Falk Werner rounded off the first day of presentations when he talked the audience through the highly convenient Pfeiffer ready2grind modular grinding plant system, recently commissioned in Eastern Africa. With this new product which is in high demand, Gebr. Pfeiffer again lived up to its reputation as a technological leader. The overwhelming reaction during the question & answer session and beyond confirmed the relevance of the speedy modular design for the African entrepreneurs.
On the second day of the event Beumer Area Manager Holger Schneider presented lively on the state-of-the-art clinker conveying, the advanced features of the belt bucket elevators and the modern packaging and palletizing range of the German co-sponsor. In conclusion Beumer Exec. Director Dirk Loose gave insight into the wide range of Beumer services.
Pfeiffer Director of Aftersales Services and Spares Rainer Krüper concluded the event by a detailed presentation of the client support options performed by Pfeiffer worldwide for decades of the industrial life span of the grinding equipment. Post commissioning optimization, maintenance support, reliable spares supplies, audits and modernizations where all highly welcome by the audience, highlighted particularly by the vivid question & answer session.
Exec. Director Heyd delivered the closing remarks leading over to the final delegate lunch before seeing the delegates off to their individual destination in South Africa and beyond.
