MVR vertical roller mills for cement and raw material grinding and MPS vertical roller mill for coal grinding
Gebr. Pfeiffer plants flag in Cambodia
The Chip Mong Group has recently awarded Gebr. Pfeiffer a contract to supply three vertical roller mills for a new cement production line in Touk Meas, Cambodia. The order comprises an MPS 3350 BK for coal as well as an MVR 5000 R-4 for raw material and an MVR 6000 C-6 for cement grinding.
The cement mill will come equipped with a MultiDrive® consisting of 4 drive modules. This drive system with an installed power of 7200 kW ensures a redundant operation of the MVR mill and, compared with other drive solutions available on the market, achieves the highest level of availability of a vertical roller mill. This increased reliability was one reason for choosing an MVR mill with MultiDrive®. Another reason was that this combination enabled the customer to go for the cost-saving “one-mill solution”. None of the competitors was able to offer a similar concept.
The MultiDrive® enables grinding operation to continue not only when one grinding roller is swung out but also in case of a planned maintenance stop or unplanned outage of one of the 1800-kW gear units. This, of course, also applies in the unlikely event of a failure of an electric drive motor.
These outstanding features of the drive system, which was launched to the market almost a decade ago, have so far been unachieved.
As innovation leader, Gebr. Pfeiffer SE places another mark on the world map, this time in South-East Asia. The cement mill MVR 6000 C-6, which will be set up in cooperation with CITIC Heavy Industries, will be the largest vertical roller mill in the ASEAN region and mark another important milestone for Gebr. Pfeiffer.
Delivery of the mills is scheduled to take place in the 1st quarter of 2017.
