MVR roller mill for grinding cement, fly ash cement, granulated blast-furnace slag and blast-furnace cement
Gebr. Pfeiffer wins order for grinding up to 370 t/h of mixed cement in India
Ultratech Cement Ltd., the sixth largest cement manufacturer in the world and also India's largest cement manufacturer, has opted for the latest MVR mill technology from Gebr. Pfeiffer. Hence 17 MVR mills of the type MVR 6000 C-6 will soon be producing in India alone.
This order is the first ever direct deal between Ultratech and Gebr. Pfeiffer, although Pfeiffer vertical roller mills do form part of the standard equipment of this Indian cement manufacturer. Due to its successful market expansion, Ultratech Cement Ltd. already owns many Pfeiffer mills grinding cement, coal and raw material, including an MVR mill with MultiDrive® for cement grinding.
The MVR 6000 C-6 enables the customer to act flexibly and grind not only 225 t/h of pure granulated blast furnace slag but also a wide variety of mixed cements with capacities of as much as 370 t/h. For maintenance purposes, two opposing rollers of the six active grinding rollers of equal size can be swung out. This ensures that the grinding operation continues even during maintenance.
As is usual when it comes to orders placed in India, the order will be handled in close cooperation between Gebr. Pfeiffer’s headquarters in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Pfeiffer’s Indian subsidiary, Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Pvt. Ltd., based in Noida.
The commissioning of the mill, for which Gebr. Pfeiffer will delegate supervisory personnel to the customer, is scheduled for spring 2021.
